WHERE IT ALL BEGAN
Eight years old and granny squares everywhere.
I was eight years old when my sister, Pastor Cynthia Green, sat me down beside her one summer day to show me something new she had learned: crochet.
Now, I’m not going to pretend I picked that hook up and instantly knew what I was doing. It took me a while! But once it clicked, baby, I was turning out granny squares left and right.
My sister could sew, knit, and bake cookies, and wherever she was creating something, I wanted to be right beside her. I was with her every step of the way, watching, learning, and finding my own love for making things by hand. Those ordinary moments together became memories—and skills—that I would carry for a lifetime.
“My sister gave me a gift that never stopped giving.”— Lisa
What began as a summer afternoon learning to crochet beside her became fifty years of creativity, joy, and something I could always come back to. Every time I pick up my hook, I carry a little of her with me.
Fifty years later, the love is still here.
I’m still crocheting. Still crafting. Still getting excited about what a little yarn and an idea can become.
Bmore’s Crochet Closet grew from that lifelong love. It brings together my Baltimore roots, my personality, and the care I put into my work. I love bold colors, pieces with character, and creating something you can wear and make your own.
I take pride in the details: clean stitches, a neat finish, and the time it takes to get a piece right. Whether I’m making a hat, a bag, or a statement piece, I want you to feel the care in it.
